iFrag return

iFrag a COD4 squad that surprised a number of people in the community has reformed after some good results in the summer LANs. The original lineup after a dissapointing result at Summer Slam came 3rd at SYchosis 2 with some roster changes. They had some impressive results here as they lost no games in the groups and beat both Packard Bell and TCMs old lineup in the knockouts. After this rifts began to appear in the team but they continued playing with the roster as they had already booked i34. Here they did beat TCM (who were seeded 12th whilst they were only 31st) but failed to progress being knocked out by VIVID in both the winner and loser brackets. However, the conflicts within the team continued to grow and eventually they folded.

Two players from the lineup, luNAR and sKit have decided to rebuild the team with the following lineup:

  •   Alex "sKit" Andersson (Captain)
  •   Matt "luNAR" Booty
  •   Robert "fluXe" Barton
  •   Declan "germaine" Elcocks
  •   Alex "thorpy" Thorp

Matt 'luNAR' Booty gave the following statement:

Well, basically after coming 9th to 12th at Multiplay's i34 the team went its separate ways, then me and skit decided to rebuild the team incognito under the name of phalanx-eSports, We were always in talk with the iFRAG Manager Ross "wayntje" Lemon About how we should come back as a team, the decision was made to stay low and once the team was finalised, announce that we were back, and might i say already we seem to be better then the former iFRAG's line up, me and sKit have been the core two players of iFRAG for a long time, yet we've never really been happy with our team mates, Although we liked them as mates. but this is the first time, each individual player can carry there own and we are happy to have the team we now have.

Alex 'thorpy' Thorp gave the following cryptic statement:

Friends, family, countrymen…  I am pleased to have this chance to join iFrag, shortly after i34 TMG went into inactivity and I was in need of an active team willing to attend i35. We have been playing together for a few weeks now and the team is looking good, despite the “2 weeks” posts all over tek-9.org :D.So I would to thank my dog, my pet hamster and a little shout out to my old team TMG. Also Brokn, he’s cool.

Its always nice to see a all UK lineup and this one has shown promise in the past. I wish them all the best in the future.
