
The Intel Extreme Masters season 3 visits Seoul, Korea for the Asian World of Warcraft Continental Finals as well as the Korean Counter-Strike 1.6 qualifications. Also at the event will be a so far unannounced RTS game tournament using a 1on1 format.
The Korean International Exhibition Center (Kintex) will be the site for these qualifiers, running alongside the GStar convention in central Seoul from the 13th - 16th November 2008.
THE GAMES
The main event - the World of Warcraft Continental Finals, a minimum of 10 teams will battle it out for at least 2 spots in the Global Finals.
World of Warcraft
- Minimum of 10 teams
- At least 2 proceed to Global Finals
- Group stage followed by play-offs
- Prize fund: $30,000
Also at the event will be the South Korean Counter-Strike 1.6 qualifiers, with the top 3 teams earning themselves a place at the Continental Finals CS Asia in China.
Counter-Strike 1.6
- 8 teams
- Top 3 earn qualification
- Group stage followed by play-offs
- Prize fund: $10,000
And finally there will be a WarCraft III tournament with just 4 partcipants, with a grand total of $10,000 up for grabs.
