Introduction to Antwerp eSports Festival

Summer has finally arrived and it's time for the start of the major LAN season for Call of Duty 4. First up we have the Antwerp eSports Festival, hyped as possibly the biggest tournament of the summer. Boasting prizes of value in excess of €30,000 and a marketing campaign on national television, Gamevibes have set their heights high for their first event.

The event will be held between the 25th and 27th of July, at none other than the Hilton Hotel in Antwerp. Boasting almost all of the top teams in CoD4 in Europe at the moment, AEF is going to be a tournament not to be missed.

Prize Breakdown:

1st. €10,000 + €4,000 hardware
2nd. €6,000 + €1,000 hardware
3rd. €3,000 + €1,000 hardware
4th. €1,000 + €1,000 hardware
5th – 8th. €1,000 hardware

A total of €20,000 cash and €10,000 worth of hardware up for grabs makes AEF a premier LAN of the summer across all games and platforms.

Tournament Format:

First Groupstage

Contains twelve groups of four teams. The winner of each group progresses directly to the playoff stage, whereas second place finisher in each group moves on to the second groupstage.

Second Groupstage

Contains four groups of three teams. Winner of each group progresses to the playoffs to continue in a double elimination bracket.

Playoff Stage

Sixteen teams battle it out in a double elimination format to be crowned the Antwerp eSports Festival champions, and to be awarded prizes with a value of €14,000.
